Agni Prasad Sapkota (born 7 March 1958) is a Nepalese politician who is the current speaker of the House of Representatives. He was elected on January 26, 2020. Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal lawmaker Mahantha Thakur, who presided over the HoR meeting as senior most member of the House of Representatives, announced that Sapkota was elected unopposed as he was the only candidate for the post of speaker. He also served as Minister of Forests and Soil Conservation in government lead by KP Oli and Minister of Information and Communications in the government lead by Jhala Nath Khanal .
