Albert Hosmer Bowker (September 8, 1919 – January 20, 2008) was an American educator. Born in Massachusetts, he worked at Stanford University in the late 1940s to early 1950s before coming to serve as Chancellor of the City University of New York from 1963 to 1971. He served as Chancellor of the University of California, Berkeley from 1971 to 1980 until serving as U.S. Assistant Secretary for Post-Secondary Education in the Carter administration. After 1 year, he went to the University of Maryland to serve as Dean of the School of Public Affairs. He died of pancreatic cancer in 2008.
