About

Alfred Percival Maudslay (18 March 1850 – 22 January 1931) was a British diplomat, explorer and archaeologist. He was one of the first Europeans to study Maya ruins. He also fully translated and annotated the best version of Bernal Díaz del Castillo's Historia verdadera de la conquista de la Nueva España from the only original manuscript in 1908 for the Hakluyt Society, which was abridged in 1928.
