Alvin Ackerley (birth registered fourth ¼ 1927 – 1973) was an English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. He played at representative level for Great Britain, England and Cumberland, and at club level for Broughton Moor ARLFC, Barrow (trialist), Workington Town, Brookland Rovers ARLFC, Halifax (Heritage № 592) (captain 1952–53 to 1955–56), and Hull Kingston Rovers, as a hooker, i.e. number 9, during the era of contested scrums.
