Avdhash Kaushal (died 12 July 2022) was an academic, and an activist who was appointed by the Government of India on numerous policy review works. Kaushal taught public administration at the famous academy of civil servants in Mussoorie for many years. Most recently he was appointed by the Union Ministry of Rural Development for monitoring of the rural job guarantee scheme NREGA. In 2005, Kaushal was appointed to review the functioning of the Ekal Vidyalayas run by the Friends of Tribal Society, and following his report on the Ekal Vidyalayas spreading hatred in the tribal areas, the MHRD withdrew the funding of such schools. He is a recipient of Padmashree award. He has a NGO called RLEK. Mr. Avdhash Kaushal was nominated Man of the Year by The Week Magazine for the year 2003.
