Bashir Ahmad (12 February 1940 – 6 February 2009) was a successful businessman and a Scottish National Party politician. He made history when he was elected to the Scottish Parliament to represent the Glasgow region at the 2007 election, as the first MSP to be elected from Scottish Asian, Muslim and non-White backgrounds.
