Bhuvaneshwar Prasad Sinha of Shahabad (now Bhojpur), Bihar (1 February 1899 – 12 November 1986) was the 6th Chief Justice of India (1 October 1959 – 31 January 1964). He also served as the president of the Bharat Scouts and Guides from April 1965 to February 1967. Mr. Sinha was born and brought up in a prominent upper cast hindu family of Kayastha viz Kshatriya family of Village Gajiyapur, Sinha Arrah (present Bhojpur) District. His grandson B. P. Singh is a former judge of the Supreme Court of India.
