Robert King Beathard Jr. ( BETH-ərd; January 24, 1937 – January 30, 2023) was an American Pro Football Hall of Fame executive who was a general manager in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers. Over the course of his 38 years in the NFL, his teams competed in seven Super Bowls (winning four times), beginning with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1966, the Miami Dolphins in 1972 and 1973, the Redskins in 1982, 1983, and 1987, and the Chargers in 1994. He died from Alzheimer's disease in 2023.
