Charles R. Doty (January 26, 1924 – April 21, 2003), of Oklahoma, ran for president of the United States in every election from 1984 to 2000. He was a Democrat, and had work experience that included jobs as a pastor (for the Universal Church of God, from 1990 to 2000) and as a dog breeder. His qualifications for the position included positions as a precinct inspector and county chairman. In addition to running for president, in 1988 he ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination for Congress in Oklahoma's 1st congressional district and in the 1992 special election for mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma as a Republican.
