Sir Charles Gavan Duffy KCMG (12 April 1816 – 9 February 1903), was an Irish nationalist, journalist, poet and politician; a Young Irelander who, following emigration to Australia, was to become the 8th Premier of Victoria and one of the commanding figures in Victorian political history.
