Christina Alexandra Freeland PC MP (born August 2, 1968) is a Canadian journalist and politician who presently serves as the deputy prime minister of Canada and minister of finance – the first woman to hold the latter post. She previously held the portfolios of intergovernmental affairs from 2019 to 2020, foreign affairs from 2017 to 2019, and international trade from 2015 to 2017. A member of the Liberal Party, Freeland represents the riding of University—Rosedale in the House of Commons.
