Daniel R. Porterfield (born August 19, 1961) is an American nonprofit executive, academic administrator, and government official serving as the president and CEO of the Aspen Institute. Porterfield previously served as the 15th president of Franklin & Marshall College, senior vice president for strategic development and English professor at Georgetown University, and communications director and chief speechwriter for U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala during the Clinton Administration.
