Dudley McCarthy (24 July 1911 – 3 October 1987) was an Australian military historian and soldier. He served in the Second World War as an intelligence officer. He later authored of one of the volumes of the official history series Australia in the War of 1939–1945, dealing with the early stages of the New Guinea campaign. He also wrote a biography of Charles Bean.
