George Ross Anderson Jr. (January 29, 1929 – December 1, 2020) was an American attorney, politician, and jurist who served as a Judge of the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. After graduating from Southeastern University and George Washington University Law School Anderson served for a year in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He worked in private legal practice from 1954 and was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives for a one year term in 1955. Anderson became a federal judge in 1980, nominated by President Jimmy Carter. He assumed senior status in 2009 and retired in 2016.
