Giovanni "Gio" Corrado Melchiore Wiederhold (June 24, 1936-December 2022) was an Italian-born computer scientist who spent most of his career at Stanford University. His research focused on the design of large-scale database management systems, the protection of their content, often using knowledge-based techniques. After his formal retirement he focused on valuation methods for intellectual property and intellectual capital.
