Dr. Harvey J. Kaltsas, A.P. is an active medical practitioner and remains the owner operator of the Healing Centre in Sarasota, FL for over 33 years. As a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Kaltsas is an Acupuncture Physician also practicing electroacupuncture, Qi Gong, oriental massage, herbal therapy, dietary guidelines, and other adjunctive therapies. He has been an active acupuncture practitioner and an influential advocate of Traditional Chinese Medicine since before it became popular in the United States. In 1993, Dr. Kaltsas was honored by the People's Republic of China for having made Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At a time when acupuncture treatment faced opposition and political pressure in the United States, his leadership and testimony is credited for gaining Congressional support for the inclusion of Acupuncture under medical insurance policies. Dr. Kaltsas is also an educator, author, and entrepreneur with extensive business, clinical, educational, fundraising, governmental, journalistic, and political experience. He has been instrumentally involved in: the creation, funding, and management of clinics, colleges, and professional associations of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine; the writing, passage, and administration of laws and regulations governing the practice of Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine Nationally and in the state of Florida; the authoring and publication of many articles and several books in the field of alternative healthcare; the creation, financing, building, and marketing of Kanaya, a $35,000,000 green condominium project in Sarasota, Florida; and the creation and funding of a million gallon per year bio-diesel facility in Portland, Maine.
