Hector Munro Chadwick FBA (22 October 1870 – 2 January 1947) was an English philologist, writer and educator at the University of Cambridge who specialized in the comparative study of epic poetry, and in Celtic and Germanic studies. He is known as the founder of the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Cambridge, for his research on the Heroic Age and for his encouragement of interdisciplinary research for the study of Celts and Germanic peoples, particularly Anglo-Saxons.
