Homer Carroll Jones (February 18, 1941 – June 14, 2023) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Giants (1964–1969) and Cleveland Browns (1970). During his career, he was known for his considerable size and speed. Fran Tarkenton claimed that he was faster than Dallas Cowboys great Bob Hayes. Jones is credited with inventing the "spike" touchdown celebration.
