About

edit

Hugh Quennec (born 28 June 1965) Was the principal owner and president of Geneva, Switzerland's two main sports teams: Genève-Servette HC and Servette FC. However was bought out Geneva Servette HC for a symbolic fee of 1 Franc in 2017 and lost ownership of Servette FC in 2015. Born in Montreal, Quebec to a Swiss mother and a French father, he had been the president of GSHC for a while when Servette FC began experiencing significant financial difficulties in early 2012. He agreed to purchase Servette FC for a symbolic fee of 1.00 CHF in March 2012. Quennec was able to successfully turn around the club's financial difficulties, avoiding bankruptcy and ensuring the club would continue to participate in the Swiss Super League for the 2012-13 season. Unfortunately however this success was limited and after badly running both the Sevrette Football Club and Geneve-Servette Hockey club, He no longer is involved with either and was forced out of both.
