Bae Joo-hyun (Korean: 배주현; born March 29, 1991), known professionally as Irene, is a South Korean singer, television host and actress. After training for five years, she debuted as the leader of girl group Red Velvet in 2014 and later formed a duo sub-unit with her bandmate Seulgi, named Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi, in 2020.
