Ivan Lawler MBE (born 19 November 1966) is a British marathon canoeist who competed from the late 1980s to the late 1990s, winning five gold and two silver medals at the canoe marathon world championships. He also competed in canoe sprint, and won two medals in the K-2 10000 m event at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a gold (1990) and a silver (K-2 10000 m: 1989). His world championship record makes him Great Britain's best ever athlete in the sport, and many consider him to be the world's best, especially since he spanned both disciplines of canoe sprint and marathon. At club level, he has always competed for Elmbridge canoe club.
