Joaquim "Jack" M. Martins is an American attorney and former New York State Senator who is a partner at the law firm Harris Beach. A Republican, he was first elected to represent the 7th Senate District in the New York State Senate in 2010 and served until December 31, 2016. He was the Republican nominee in the 2016 election to represent New York's 3rd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, losing to Democrat Thomas Suozzi in the general election. Martins ran on the Republican Party Line, the Tax Revolt Party Line, and the Reform Party Line in the November 2017 election for Nassau County Executive, narrowly losing to Laura Curran.
