Jacqueline Domac is a former teacher at Venice High School (California, U.S.) most notable for her work to improve student nutrition and animal rights. She initiated a pilot program that banned soda and other so-called junk food from being sold in vending machines or by clubs for fundraising in LAUSD schools. The program's success at improving students' health is unknown, however, her work provided the foundation for state legislation recently signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, which banned all soda and junk food from California public schools. Domac is a recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award from the Los Angeles Unified School District and the National Healthy School Hero Award for improving student nutrition and physical activity. Domac is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and received a Masters in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law and is currently completing her Juris Doctorate. She is also known for her five year relationship with actor Edward Furlong.
