Javad Heyat (Azerbaijani: Cavad Heyət, Ҹавад Һејәт; Persian: جواد هیئت‎, 25 May 1925 – 12 August 2014) was an Iranian–Azerbaijani , journalist, surgeon and writer. He founded Varliq magazine in 1979.First open heart surgery in Iran in 1961; In 1969 he performed the first heart valve replacement, kidney transplant in humans, heart transplant in dogs. He was elected a Fellow of the World Society of Surgeons in 1963 and the French Academy of Surgery in 1983. For 12 years he published the journal "Medical Science" (Daneşe Pezeki).
