Jean de Montluc (1502–1579) was bishop of Valence and brother of Blaise de Montluc. He was sympathetic to the Protestants, attacked the cult of images, and made prayers in French, thereby earning him the opprobe of Rome. He advocated a reunion of Protestantism and Catholicism through the establishment of a common council.
