Li Lianjie (courtesy name Yangzhong; born 26 April 1963), better known by his stage name Jet Li, is a martial artist, actor, and philanthropist. With a film career spanning more than forty years, he is regarded as one of the most iconic Chinese film stars, one of the most renowned martial arts stars of his generation and one of the greatest martial arts stars in the history of cinema. Known for his portrayals of Chinese folk heroes, films in which he has appeared have grossed over $2.4 billion worldwide.
