John Gray (1836 – 1 June 1889) was an American soldier who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Port Republic on 9 June 1862 when he "mounted an artillery horse of the enemy and captured a brass 6-pound piece in the face of the enemy's fire and brought it to the rear".
