John Koukouzelis or Jan Kukuzeli (Albanian: (Shën) Jan Kukuzeli; Bulgarian: Йоан Кукузел, Yoan Kukuzel; Greek: Ιωάννης Κουκουζέλης, Ioannis Koukouzelis; Macedonian: Јован Кукузел, Jovan Kukuzel; c. 1280 – c. 1360) was a Byzantine Orthodox Christian composer, singer and reformer of Eastern Orthodox music. He was recognized as a saint by the Eastern Orthodox Church after his death. His music is held in high esteem by Albanians, Bulgarians, Greeks, Macedonians, Romanians and Serbs.
