John Longsworth is a former member of the Ohio General Assembly. Longsworth, from Columbiana County, Ohio, worked as a teacher and administrator for the school systems in the area for many years before seeking public office. After the Voting Rights Act of 1965 enacted specific legislative districts, Longsworth ran for the 30th District of the Ohio Senate, winning a two year term in 1966. In 1968, facing reelection, Longsworth was defeated, losing to Doug Applegate.
