John Nesbett Leedom, Sr. (July 27, 1921 - May 31, 2011), was an engineer, businessman, and lobbyist from Dallas, Texas, who served from 1981 to 1996 as a Republican member of the Texas State Senate from District 16. He is best known as the author of the law which established the Texas "Rainy Day Fund." From 1989 to 1991, he was one of several members designated as Senate President Pro Tempore in the 71st legislative session.
