Jones Angell (born 1979 in Sanford, North Carolina) is the play-by-play voice of North Carolina Tar Heels football and men's basketball. Angell graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 and immediately joined the Tar Heel Sports Network. In 2003, he became the voice of Tar Heel baseball, and called the Tar Heels' appearances in the finals of the 2006 and 2007 College World Series. In 2005, after Mick Mixon became the play-by-play man for the Carolina Panthers, Angell succeeded him as longtime announcer Woody Durham's partner, and was on hand for two Final Fours and the Tar Heels' most recent national championship, in 2009.
