José Acosta was a traveler and Jesuit priest who is remembered in the field of medicine for his original description of mountain sickness known as Acosta's disease. The first edition of his book, The Naturall and Morall Historie of the East and West Indies was published in Seville in 1590, which was later translated into Dutch in 1958 in Haarlem. And then into English in 1604 in London.
