He lived in a blood gang dominated neighborhood but rode the 210 bus on Crenshaw all the way to Venice Blvd daily to Loyola Jesuit College Preparatory High School. It was at this oasis in the hood that he first experienced the wealth and corruption of the Catholic Church. It was also here that he really learned what DuBois called the ways of white folks. Embraced by the minority black presence and befriended by the Malibu surfer cats and the Hancock Park richies he gravitated toward the arts. He was actively involved in the theatre during high school and at College in Berkeley California. After graduating, he studied for the priesthood for 12 years with an indigenous African religious organization based in New York after which he went on to a successful career as an engineer in the travel industry.
