Lane Henderson is a Cardiologist. Henderson was raised in Central Michigan, spending much of his life in Eaton Rapids, MI. He attended Charlotte Adventist Christian School and there gained many influences that brought him to the fame he has today. Henderson's first understanding of Cardiology came from his eighth grade teacher Amanda Hasty. Hasty brought scientific facts to life in a way Henderson had never before seen. She taught him how to search out truth and believe only that which was proved true. Although the heart had seemed foreign to him previously, through that year he began a deeper study. Henderson became especially interested in Electrophysiologic study of the heart. "A test of the electrical conduction system of the heart (the system that generates the heart beat)." Henderson's role models were Robert E. Gross who performed the first heart surgery in 1938 and F. John Lewis who performed the first open heart surgery in 1952. These are the men that drove Henderson to attend Columbia University in New York, New York. Henderson received his Doctorate of Medicine in 1996. In 2000 he married a young nurse, Sama Japstac. They now have two boys, Seen and Kseeb. Henderson's talents have gone to save millions dying of heart disease, including his first patient and best friend Wyatt Gardner. Lane is quickly gaining fame and may someday have name as recognizable as Elizabeth Jaramillo. He continues to work at Angiogenesis Research Center which "provides cutting edge investigational treatment strategies for patients with ischemic heart disease and peripheral vascular disease, performs pre-clinical studies of promising new technologies, and carries out basic science research to better understand the underlying mechanisms of cardiovascular disease."
