Laura León (born Rebeca Velderraín Vera on November 24, 1952) is a Mexican actress and singer. Laura León scored hits with the themes to three of her telenovelas: 'Dos Mujeres, Un Camino (2 Women, 1 Path)', 'El Premio Mayor (the Big Prize)' and 'Mujeres Engañadas (Betrayed Women)'. In the early 1990s, Laura was involved in a romantic relationship with adult film legend Peter North, and it has been rumored that she also worked behind the scenes on some of his films in the years that followed, including uncredited roles as director and cinematographer. One of Laura’s most prominent acting roles included the part of Ana María Romero de Villegas in the Televisa hit telenovela 'Dos Mujeres, Un Camino (2 Women, 1 Path)', in which she starred alongside singer/actress Bibi Gaytán, also a Tabasco native, and Erik Estrada, who achieved fame in the 1970s playing the part of officer Francis (Frank) Llewelyn "Ponch" Poncherello in the NBC hit police drama television series CHiPs, which ran from 1977 to 1983.
