Lawrence Alexander Hardie (January 13, 1933 – December 17, 2013) was an American geologist, sedimentologist, and geochemist. For nearly 50 years, he mentored students and pursued research as a Professor at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in Baltimore MD in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. He authored or co-authored many scientific papers and several books.
