Eleanor Margaret Burbidge, FRS (née Peachey; August 12, 1919 – April 5, 2020) was a British-born American astrophysicist. Her research was in the field of stellar nucleosynthesis, including the influential BFH paper. Burbidge held several leadership and administrative posts, including Director of the Royal Greenwich Observatory and President of the American Astronomical Society.
