María Eugenia Brizuela de Ávila (born 1956) is an El Salvadoran lawyer who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs for the country from 1999 to 2003. She was the first woman to become president of a private bank, first woman to run an insurance company, the first sit on the Board of the Central American Institute of Business Administration (Spanish: Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas) (INCAE) and the first female Minister. She is currently Director of Corporate Sustainability at HSBC for Latin America and is based in Mexico City.
