Mariya Zakharovna Shcherbachenko (Ukrainian: Марія Захарівна Щербаченко, Russian: Мария Захаровна Щербаченко; 14 February 1922 – 23 November 2016) was a medic in the Red Army during World War II, referred to by the Soviets as the Great Patriotic War. For being one of the first 13 soldiers to cross the Dnieper she was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on 23 October 1943.
