Mark Wigglesworth (born 19 July 1964) is an internationally renowned and Olivier Award-winning conductor. Born in Sussex, he attended Bryanston School, Manchester University, and the Royal Academy of Music in London. He won the Kondrashin Conducting Competition in Amsterdam in 1989. He also served as music director for the English National Opera for the 2015–16 season, and more recently has published his book 'The Silent Musician: Why Conducting Matters'.
