Mary Greenup (1789-1846), was a British-Colombian businessperson. As widow of general James English, a British general in service of Simon Bolivar, she was appointed as the Colombian representative of the firm Herring and Richardson, an unusual position for a 19th-century woman, upon her return to Colombia in 1822, where she became a leading member of society and the financial world and a known political supporter of Simon Bolivar. She retired from public life upon her marriage to landowner William Greenup in 1827.
