Massimo Troisi (19 February 1953 – 4 June 1994) was an Italian actor, screenwriter, and film director. He began his acting career in a theatre and rose to prominence for his roles in television series. Troisi is best known for his works in the films I'm Starting from Three (1981) and Il Postino: The Postman (1994), and was posthumously nominated for two Oscars for the latter.
