Maurice Mierau (born January 22, 1962) is a Canadian writer of non-fiction and poetry. Though he was born in Bloomington, Indiana, Maurice Mierau grew up in Nigeria, Manitoba, Jamaica, Kansas and Saskatchewan and has a Mennonite background. Mierau currently lives with his family in Winnipeg, Manitoba and from 2006-2008 he was president of the League of Canadian poets.
