Mel Krajden, M.D., is Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is also Medical Director of Hepatitis Services and Associate Medical Director of the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control Public Health Microbiology and Reference Laboratory. His research focuses on the prevention and care of hepatitis, human papillomavirus, and human immunodeficiency virus. He obtained his B.S. and M.D. degrees at McGill University and did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine there. He held a fellowship in infectious disease at Stanford University and trained as a medical microbiologist at the University of Toronto.
