John Michael Boardman (February 13, 1938 – March 18, 2021) was a mathematician whose speciality is algebraic and differential topology. He was formerly at the University of Cambridge, England; he was a full professor at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Boardman is most widely known for his construction of the first rigorously correct model of the homotopy category of spectra.
