Michael Horovitz OBE (4 April 1935 to 7 July 2021) was a British poet, editor, artist and translator who was a leading part of the Beat Poetry scene in the UK. He founded the literary periodical New Departures in 1959, and in the following decades organized many "Live New Departures" events featuring poetry and jazz performances.
