Michèle Lamont (born 1957 in Toronto, Ontario) is a sociologist and is the Robert I. Goldman Professor of European Studies and a Professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Harvard University. She served as the 108th President of the American Sociological Association from 2016–2017. In 2017, she received the Erasmus Prize and was awarded 3 honorary doctorates (from University of Ottawa, Université de Bordeaux and University of Amsterdam). She has 3 children: Gabriel Lamont-Dobbin, Chloe Lamont-Dobbin, and Pierre Lamont-Dobbin.
