Peter Dougherty (born June 27, 1984), who goes by the stage name Moon Boots, is an American DJ and music producer from Brooklyn, New York, United States. At the age of 11 his family moved to Connecticut where he spent the rest of his childhood. Dougherty developed a passion for music early on in life, progressing from playing the piano to keyboard and synthesisers. His early influences include artists such as Daft Punk, Herbie Hancock and A Tribe Called Quest. Later, he would study music composition at Princeton University.
