Nicolaus Adam Radford known as Nic Radford (born November 5, 1977) is an American engineer, roboticist, inventor, and serial entrepreneur raising over $32M in funding for his companies. He holds dual roles as president and CEO in both of his technology startups: Houston Mechatronics, Inc (HMI), a robotics firm he founded with other NASA partners, and Jacobi Motors, his company spun out of HMI to commercialize his variable flux motor research from graduate school. Prior to forming HMI, he spent 14 years at Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center's Dexterous Robotics Laboratory at NASA in Houston, Texas. Radford was the principal investigator tasked with leading the development of Valkyrie for participation in the 2013 DARPA Robotics Challenge (DRC) and NASA's future Mars robotics missions.
