Nirupama Sanjeev (née: Vaidyanathan; born 8 December 1976) is a retired Indian professional tennis player, and the former Indian No. 1. In the 1998 Australian Open, she became the second Indian woman (after Nirupama Mankad) in the open era to feature in a Grand Slam main draw, and the first one in singles to feature and then win a round at a main draw, beating Gloria Pizzichini. She has also won the Bronze Medal at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games in Mixed Doubles, partnering Mahesh Bhupathi. Sanjeev was the first Indian female to enter the top 200 world singles rankings.
